This course is designed for non-executive members of supervisory boards in insurance companies, including newly elected board members with limited insurance knowledge and experienced leaders transitioning from executive roles. It’s suitable for both P&C and L&H insurance companies and also for participants outside the insurance industry, such as regulators or government agencies, who deal with insurance from a different perspective.
Insurance boards face the formidable task of navigating the dynamic landscape of the insurance industry while ensuring that their companies remain steadfast in their commitment to policyholders, employees, shareholders, regulators, and all other stakeholders. Striking this balance requires strategic foresight and unwavering leadership. This Swiss Re Institute course helps board members to better understand a challenging insurance landscape. The course explains the business fundamentals of an insurance company and key insurance profit drivers. Core topics include performance measurement, performance strategy, capital management, asset and liability management as well as additional insights into the strategic implications of IFRS 17 and M&A.
